All the single __________

Kristi is gone at her annual Woven retreat for adoptive and foster mothers. At least that is what I think it is. I’ve been the primary care giver for our four children since about 2:00pm yesterday or roughly the last 31 hours. With another 15-18 hour ahead of me I think I’m quite qualified to make a mass sweeping generalization.

Single parenthood is exhausting.

This isn’t about me though. I’d rather take a step back and acknowledge the hard working individuals who are raising families on their own, whether by choice, circumstance, or events out of their control. I humbly applaud your work in giving love, care, discipline, and support to your kids while likely receiving very little back for your self. You are amazing, and I hope those around you can see it. Keep up the incredible work.
